OPTIONS HIGH SCHOOL
Bellingham, WA
This new high school on a tight construction site provides approximately 48,000-sf of modern educational space, including an accessible green roof and a multi-use theater. Framed primarily with recycled steel, the seismic resisting system utilizes buckling-restrained braced frames. These high tech components improve performance in a large earthquake and can reduce project costs by lowering building mass and foundation sizes.
